FAQ

What is CollabTech?

CollabTech is the evolution of B2B SaaS. Think tools for DAOs and other organisations onchain, network states, communities, gig workers and fluid teams.

Read more here about this trillion dollar market opportunity and the real uses cases for web3.

Who can participate in this Hackathon?

Anyone from anywhere in the world can participate. The goal is to open up collaboration technology to everybody in the world and fill this space with life and innovation.

How much time do I need to commit?

This program is designed for people to join alongside their full-time job. You have 30 days to learn, research and build with your team, but that does not mean you need to spend all 30 days actively engaging every day. Go as fast or slow as you prefer, as long as you hit the submission deadline and meet the outlined criteria.

What skills do I need to be able to participate?

Coding is good but not a must-have, if you are a designer, great at pitching or have any other skills in user research, product, project management you are a good fit. Imagine you are building a product, many skills are needed.

How long do I need to be online for?

We will optimize for being able to work asynchronously as we know participants are all over the world and have other obligations. Do try to be there for some activities as it will make it easier for you to participate.

There will be live workshops where you can learn and ask questions, so attendance is strongly encouraged (recordings will also be available).

Do I need a team?

A team is highly encouraged but you can also submit solo. You don't necessarily need to have a team ready to apply for the hackathon. We’ll host events to help you meet others and build a team.

What do I need to submit the project?

There will be a detailed list of submission requirements for each type of submission. Generally what you need is an accessible GitHub repository that’s open and a video explanation with a working demo of the product.

I'm new to web3 and I’m a web2 developer, can I participate?

Yes, we are looking for web2 developers as well. You can learn here about the basics of web3 and here about Arbitrum.

What if I've never been to a hackathon before?

No worries! It’s helpful to have some software engineering experience, but it’s not a requirement. Projects often need designers, front-end engineers, project managers, and more. Find a team that needs your skill set and join the fun!

What about IP, who owns the code submitted?

Your IP, your code. However, for bounties there might be different rules you will see in each bounty description.
